I am proud of myself! Yesterday morning I convinced both myself and Luke that we needed to go for a morning beach run. It had been some time since we went the four blocks to the beach and appreciated the undeniable beauty that we're surrounded by! So, after a few moans and groans, off we went!
I found running with Luke really pushed me further and I ended running nearly double the amount that I ran previously when I went on my own. And not only that, I didn't even have the urge to stop! I find that anytime I workout with another person, usually someone who is a bit more fit than I am, always pushes me harder and further. I really like that!

The morning was gloriously sunny, the water was beautiful and it was nice to see the happy and fit people out walking their dogs or jogging along the shore. We did have one sad point in our run. We found a small seal beached quite far up from where the tide was. He opened one eye and looked up at us, but we weren't sure if it was okay to lift him up and put him back in the ocean. Luckily, a local woman ran by us and told us that it happens all the time and he was just taking a sun-bathing rest and would be able to make his way back to the ocean no problem. But just in-case he was injured, she would call the animal rescue centre after her run and let them know. |
Fewwwwwf!
After our run we ventured back home where we both devoured a yumm Spinach and Berry Bliss Smoothie (click here for the recipe) and Luke made us home-made hash-browns and scrambled eggs. Double yum! Then it was off to work for both of us!
After a few hours of work and a few hours of wonderful "play time" with a good friend, I decided my morning run wasn't enough exercise and that I needed a good weight lifting workout. Down to my little gym I went. I did a bit of random cardio (jumping jacks, burpees, elliptical trainer, etc) and then my Belly Blaster workout! I swear I can feel every moment of that side plank working!! I finished off with some hardcore upper body weight lifting because that always makes me feel tough!
I finished the night off enjoying time with friends, eating lasagna and enjoying a few glasses of red wine. Yum and Fun!
